Hey You
My name is Roni, and I create slow fashion in Jaffa, in a space that was once my grandparents’ lighting shop and workshop. As a child, I watched my grandmother thread crystal beads onto small brass pins to make chandeliers. Years later, I came across those same pins in my own work, adorned with a small bow, and that bow has stayed with me ever since.

The Process
Each collection begins with a feeling: a film, an exhibition, or something I’m living through at the time. I follow it into the history of dress, design and art, and keep it in a sketchbook until it becomes a garment, drawing, embroidering and printing along the way.

The Designer I Am
I love light, airy, feminine clothes with an edge. I’m drawn to tension: soft and rough, fragile and strong. It’s at the heart of everything I make.

The Clothes
Clothes, for me, are more than a covering. Our garments are an opportunity to dream, and to meet what we feel, what we wish to become, what we want to reveal or conceal. I make each piece to be kept: from the best materials, in small series, with care for the people who make it, and so that you feel at your best in it.
